SEEK manages referee reminders and responses for you, saving time and reducing admin. Structured, consistent feedback helps confirm candidate fit, giving you greater confidence in every hiring decision.
How it works
What's included in a reference check?
Referees answer 14 structured questions, including:
Overall performance and reliability ratings
Teamwork and job-specific skills
Strengths and areas for improvement
Rehire likelihood and management preferences
Optional public endorsement for SEEK Profile
Reports include a star rating out of 5, as well as written responses to provide clear hiring insights.
Your data stays safe
All reference check info stays secure with SEEK. Only your team can access the checks. Candidates can track progress, but won’t be able to see the reference responses.

Can I tweak the questions? Not currently. Questions are standardised to suit a wide range of roles and industries.
Where do I see the completed checks? Log into candidate management on SEEK, open a candidate profile and select the ‘References’ tab.
How many checks can I request? Reference checks are now included with our Basic, Advanced and Premium ads, and available as an optional add‑on for Lite. You can request reference checks for any or all shortlisted candidates without needing to manage credits or limits.
